60 minute sketches

2010-2011

In 2005 I gave birth to a little baby boy and in 2007 to a wee girl. These two are a wonder to me ... and they flipped my world upside down! Sculpting was put on hold for many years as I focused all of my energy on my little ones.  I was very surprised to find myself jump started into sculpting again by my Chicago church.  Encouraged by those around me to sculpt live on stage during the 60 minute worship set, a frightening but beautiful rediscovery of my hands began.  These experiences reminded me of the benefits of working fast and furious. When I take too much time to finish a piece my thoughts tend to dull my spontaneous reaction to the quiet voice inside me.
